2024 Year in Review: Wins, Growth and Gratitude

A heartfelt thanks, a quick reminder, and a special offer. ❤️

Hi there!

Back in January, when I moved this list over to Substack, I truly had this exciting plan to write and post with much more frequency about a whole range of topics.

As with many ideas I’ve had for my business, I only discovered through attempting to do this that this was not a fully aligned choice. (Oops.) Don’t get me wrong—there are plenty of topics that I want to discuss, and I do believe that it’s valuable to share ideas in a format like this.

That said, I couldn’t write very often because… well… honestly, because I didn’t want to. Partly because I couldn’t quite figure out which conversations I wanted to start. I also realized along the way that, as a busy solopreneur, I just didn’t have the bandwidth to facilitate a lot of online community dialogue.

But more than that, I had to acknowledge the honest truth that, though a part of me wanted to expand and grow InnerVoice Studio, I just wasn’t totally ready yet—at least, not in a ‘publish a lot of articles’ kind of way.

One thing about me is that I have a really stubborn side, and it’s usually the one driving my choices. Sometimes I feel like I’m getting Everything All Wrong™️ or I’m Not Doing Anything Good Enough™️ because I change my mind a lot.

But there is absolutely no shame in a non-linear path.

Furthermore, there is no sense staying on a path that’s not right for you.

In my own life, I’ve learned that if I attempt to commit to something that isn’t truly aligned with me in some purposeful way, I won’t be able to produce quality results anyway. So I’ve learned to leave space and grace to explore a lot, meander a bit, and pivot when necessary, all while following my inner voice. I practice trusting—and it really is a daily practice—that when I slow down and tune into what is most meaningful to me, I’m able to do better work and create better overall outcomes in the world around me.

Ergo, instead of cultivating this online space as originally intended, I spent most of the year continuing to work with my private clients while also investing in my own personal growth and professional development. This included reconnecting to my work, clarifying my sense of purpose, and rededicating myself to it, taking numerous classes to learn many new skills and tools, integrating new business systems, stretching out of my comfort zone in all sorts of ways, meeting new people, and even reworking my approach to my physical health.

And though I’m not the prolific author I once set out to be, I’m very pleased with the ground I’ve covered, how I’ve evolved personally and professionally, and how this will all carry forward into the coming months.

If you are a paid member of this space and you do not feel you received enough value for your investment, let’s chat. In the meantime…

Here are a few InnerVoice highlights from 2024:

  • I facilitated a sold-out in-person Own Your Voice: Communication and Confidence for Women workshop.

  • I participated as a vendor at the Sienna College Women-Owned Business Fair.

  • I joined the Capital Region Chamber of Commerce.

  • I hosted a multi-session online book club where we read and discussed Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life by Marshall Rosenberg.

  • I upgraded InnerVoice Studio to a new online business and client management platform.

  • I spoke at a Talent Development and HR conference, leading the session Unlocking Voices: A Unique Approach to Building a Culture of Communication and Collaboration.

  • I completed a Mental Health First Aid Certification through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing offered through the Mental Health Association in New York State.

  • I (finally!) produced and shared my first self-guided video practice, Connect to Your Voice.

  • I completed an intense and transformative 4-month Mind-Body Coaching Certificate program.

  • I built a new website for InnerVoice Studio and quietly launched it into the world.

  • I attended several classes, workshops and networking events—both online and in-person. (In-person!)

  • I partnered with a business coach to help refine and expand my offerings in 2025. (She insists I write more next year. We’ll see. 🥸)

More importantly, my clients achieved some major wins this year.

2024 has been a wild ride, and there were times when it felt impossible to keep up with everything happening in the world. In the midst of it all, my clients owned their voices in incredible ways—from confidently delivering speeches and presentations, to upleveling their careers with promotions and new opportunities, to strengthening their overall communication and leadership skills.

While career achievements are impressive, it’s equally important to honor the everyday wins. Cultivating self-awareness and embracing conscious communication skills is genuinely a lifestyle choice. Developing confidence and strength with one’s voice requires courage, curiosity, and a deep willingness to embrace discomfort and navigate vulnerable moments.

From maneuvering conflict with courage, to setting boundaries, taking up space, and using your voice in new ways, or simply realizing that your voice matters just as much as anyone else’s—this is a huge shout-out to each of you who showed up and owned your voice in your corner of the world this past year.

A Big Thanks ❤️

As we wrap up 2024, I want to extend my most sincere and heartfelt thanks to every one of you for being here on this journey. Thank you for your continued trust, your curiosity, and intention; your friendship, your thoughtful replies, and, of course, your business and referrals. It means the world to me to be able to do this work, and your ongoing support is what makes that possible.

A Quick Reminder ☑️

If you have a Learning + Development stipend or reimbursement through your workplace, now’s the time to use it before it’s gone.

Over the years, I’ve heard people say that they didn’t want to use this benefit because they felt uncomfortable taking something like this from their employer, weren’t sure they deserved it, or simply couldn’t find the time to use it.

Please keep in mind that if your company offers a learning benefit like this, it’s part of your total compensation package. If you don’t take advantage of it, you’re essentially leaving your own hard-earned money on the table and missing valuable growth opportunities. The company has already budgeted for it, and no matter how you think of yourself in your role, you are deserving of investment and support. And, if something is truly aligned with your goals, you’ll find the time to make it work.

An Important Side Note: I’ve seen many companies phase out this benefit over the past several years, so if your company is still offering it, I’d definitely recommend grabbing it while you can.

If you’d like to work with me, you can use your benefit to pay now and we can start in the new year. If you’re unsure about the type of personal/professional development work you want to do or how to use your reimbursement, I’m happy to hop on a call to brainstorm ideas and provide recommendations. Either way, let’s chat.

A Little Offer 🤲🏻

The end of this year isn’t typically thought of as a time to begin new projects, and I totally respect that. That said, I have a couple of 1:1 spots that I’d love to fill before the year ends. If you’ve been thinking about doing this work but you’ve been putting it off for whatever reason, let’s have a chat.

I’m offering 10% off any program if you enroll between now and December 31st.

If you’re interested, simply book a call or reply to this email.

That’s all for now…

Thank you, again. There is much in store for 2025, but we’ll talk about that next time. It’s time to take a moment to integrate, release and reset.

Now go have a snack and take a nap, dear friend—you’ve earned it!
